House of Black are currently seeking crew to be part of a dedicated production team. We are looking for a talented camera operator/editor, photographer and sound operator/editor with previous experience to help create original video content. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a new and exciting team for an emerging London based company. This will be a great chance to build up your portfolio and have your work seen by a wide, diverse audience. House of Black have a commitment to excellence and expect all team members to do the same.

Brief Role Description To be part of a production team that will create original content for the website, YouTube channel and various other outlets.
Full Role Description

  1. Camera Operator/Editor
Camera Operator/Editor will be required to shoot and edit original content for website, YouTube channel and various other outlets for the next 12 weeks. The role is freelance, candidate will generally only be required on shoot* days (mainly interviews, as and when they occur) however you will occasionally be required to attend team meetings and industry events. Candidate will be required to edit the captured footage. Your work based hours are dependent on how many shoots we manage to book. Candidate must be reliable and good at sticking to deadlines as content must be delivered on time. *shoots may sometimes occur on early mornings, late evenings or weekends.
After completing the 12 weeks successfully candidates may be offered the chance to join the production team permanently with possibility of promotion; candidates could then decide to recruit additional staff and also come up with their own features and shows for the YouTube channel (if approved). Successful candidates will also gain access to House of Black contacts and help and support towards future aspirations.
Qualifications Required GCSE Maths & English: C grade minimum
Skills Required
  • Must have previous experience filming
  • Must have previous experience editing
  • Must have own video camera or be able to shoot on Canon 7D
  • Good knowledge of composition
  • Knowledge of sound and lighting
  • Reliable and sticks to deadlines
  • Copes well under pressure and ability to prioritise
  • Good communication skills
  • Good knowledge of industry area
  • Good organisation skills and attention to detail
  • Good at networking and building contacts is a bonus
  • Knowledge of sound editing (software) is a bonus
  • Knowledge of grading is a bonus
  • Knowledge of After Effects is a bonus
